Headquartered in Pittsfield MA, Berkshire Health Systems together with their network of affiliates, is the region's leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services. Noted for award-winning programs, nationally-recognized physicians, world-class technology, and a sincere commitment to the community, BHS delivers advanced healthcare most commonly found in large metropolitan centers.

Berkshire Health Systems initially contacted Sonicu about the need for sound level monitoring in their hospital. Sonicu's industry-leading SIM (sound indicating meter) technology is proven to reduce sound levels in all types of sound-sensitive environments including patient rooms and NICUs. When sound levels exceed predetermined limits, color-coded visual alerts prompt staff to modify their behaviors and serve as an ongoing reminder of acceptable sound levels.

Additionally, the SoniCloud platform provides analysis and regulatory reporting tools including Sound Target Achievement Reports. STAR reports aggregate sound data and provide performance measurements and analytics needed to accomplish the goal of providing a quiet, safe environment for patients and staff. STAR Reports identify when and where undesirable "Sound Events" occur, and provide rolling sound level averages that provide valuable insights for managing and improving the hospital's sound levels. Using STAR reports in conjunction with the immediate visual alerts displayed on Sonicu's Sound Indicating Meters (SIM), hospital staff have the data they need to systematically identify and eliminate undesirable sound events that disturb patients and impact patient safety and satisfaction.

After initial conversations with Sonicu, it was determined that Berkshire also needed room conditions monitoring in their surgical suites and other critical care environments. BHS selected Sonicu's Room Condition Monitoring Kits because they include local, live displays of air pressure differential, ambient temperature, and relative humidity levels for each monitored location.

Unifying BHS's clean room and sound monitoring solutions onto the Sonicu's cloud-based platform SoniCloud, benefits BHS in 4 significant ways.

  1. Best-in-class asset protection with redundant power, data storage, and data transfer technology.
  2. Greater efficiency by reducing time spent data logging, while increasing operational visibility with dashboard access via phone, tablet, or PC, and powerful alarm handler for faster response.
  3. Streamlined regulatory compliance thanks to Sonicu's automated report generation ability.
  4. Maximized ROI thanks to the advantages listed above, plus a Sonicu subscription includes personalized customer support team, complementary firmware upgrades, unlimited data storage, unlimited user access, 100% hardware warranty, and unlimited access to online training videos.
