Nation’s Leading Healthcare Provider Selects Sonicu for Pharmacy Environmental Monitoring

Optum enhances its compliance automation with healthcare monitoring leader

One of the nation’s leading healthcare organizations has selected Sonicu to enhance its compliance automation operations across dozens of its specialty pharmacy locations nationwide. 

OptumRx, the pharmacy sector off the leading health services company, has adopted Sonicu temperature and environmental monitoring solutions to enhance patient safety and quality of care across its network of OptumRx locations. 

CBRE, the nation’s premier commercial real estate management firm, contracted with Sonicu on behalf of OptumRx. 

Sonicu recently completed a three-month full implementation of its monitoring solutions at 65 locations, including the largest integrated pharmacy center in Mesa, across the United States covering over 40 states.  

The Minnesota-based company will rely on Sonicu for the following services: 

• Ambient Temperature and Humidity Monitoring in cleanrooms and storage areas
• Pressure Differential in Cleanrooms
• Temperature Monitoring in Medical Refrigerators and Freezers

Sonicu is a leading provider of real-time temperature and environmental monitoring solutions for the healthcare, life science and food services industries.

Sonicu’s solutions use a variety of digital sensors and probes to collect data on temperature, humidity, air quality, and other environmental factors. This data is transmitted wirelessly to its cloud-based platform, SoniCloud, for analysis, reporting, and alarm notifications to its users.

Optum is deploying Sonicu solutions to monitor a variety of areas in its facilities, clean rooms, pharmacy fridges & freezers, and regulated storage areas.

The data collected by Sonicu will be used to:

• Identify and address potential environmental hazards that could impact patient safety or quality of care.
• Ensure that critical assets are alarming should they go out of specified ranges.
• Comply with all applicable environmental regulations.

Optum turned to Sonicu for its simplicity in installation and deployment, its scalability across the country, and its affordable cost of ownership.
